Nice pictures and good explanations but more suitable for someone in a Church of England setting as it explains infant baptism and some of the phrases said at adult confirmation. Was looking for a simple explanation of water baptism for a born again Christian.

This was a great book for preparing my two sons for their baptism. It is written on a lot of different levels so you can make it as detailed or as simple as you like just by missing out inappropriate detail. It goes through the basic components of the service and, explains / prompts the child to think about, the various symbolic elements. My 5 year old son got the most out of it and was very engaged in the service and confident enough to answer questions because of what he had seen in the book. My 3 year old didn't get as much out of it but did enjoy it all the same and asked for it to be read again. I think it would be appropriate for older children too.

Good book for children 5 or older. For Anglican baptism. I was hoping for a simpler book for children under 5.

This was purchased for our church, to enable primary age children approaching Baptism to understand what would happen and what was signified. The children responded very positively, with lots of questions and discussion ; a very helpful purchase.
